ABOUT AMY

As a writer I've worked in many formats, from developing the social voice of a huge retail brand to crafting TV & video scripts and full-length print pieces. If there's a common thread running through my work, it's my ability to quickly connect with the people involved and then produce writing that exceeds expectations.

During my 20 years as co-host of a CMA award-winning morning radio show, I never stopped taking writing gigs on the side. The big surprise for me was that once I moved into copywriting full-time, my background in radio became my secret weapon. Through radio, I learned so much about connecting with diverse audiences and creating content that sparks interaction, emotion, and laughter. If anything turns you into an idea-generating machine, it's going on the air every morning knowing you have four hours to fill up with fresh, timely material...or else it's dead air!

I was born and raised in my current home of Portland, but have lived in Southern California, Brooklyn, Washington DC, and Dublin, Ireland. Aside from writing & radio, I also have worked in television production on commercials, documentaries, movies, and shows (I ran the location department for a season of "Portlandia".) I work regularly as an emcee and a benefit auctioneer for local nonprofits so I'm really good at tongue twisters.

Obsessions: reading fiction, planning trips, and posting on my talking cat's Instagram account. (Warning: he likes to swear.)
